Dr. William H. Noah
Medical Director
Dr. William H. Noah was the first to practice sleep medicine in Rutherford County, starting the first sleep center in Murfreesboro at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in 1994. That was 14 years and more than 12,000 patients ago. Because of the continual increase in volume, Dr. Noah opened the Sleep Center at StoneCrest Medical Center in 2004 in Smyrna. Both centers were accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The Sleep Center at Middle Tennessee Medical Center has now closed as the new Sleep Center at Murfreesboro opens May 2006 on Medical Center Parkway, at the future site of the hospital.
After completing an Honors BA from Rollins College in three years, Dr. Noah attended the Medical School at the University of Tennessee, where he met and married his wife, Dr. Melody Noah. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Tennessee and was chosen Chief Resident. At that time he began a research career and took a fellowship in pulmonary medicine at the University of Utah. While still a fellow Dr. Noah was awarded an international Parker B. Francis Fellowship for his research efforts. Yet, he preferred seeing patients and came home to Tennessee to begin practice in Murfreesboro. The Drs. Noah live on a farm with their three daughters. Dr. William Noah’s leisurely pursuit is biblical archaeology and theology on which he has published several books and produced award-winning documentaries.
