Dr. Brian Wind obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in 1994 and earned a Master’s degree in clinical psychology at Middle Tennessee State University in 1998. While completing his Master’s program, he began training in sleep disorders medicine with Drs. Noah and Hoelscher. In 2004 Dr. Wind obtained a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Pacific Graduate School in Palo Alto, California. Pre-doctoral training experience includes positions held at Stanford University Department of Psychology; Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science; Vanderbilt University Department of Psychiatry; and Veteran’s Affairs Medical Centers, Palo Alto and Nashville/Murfreesboro Campuses.

Dr. Wind is currently the Clinical Director of the Sleep Center of Murfreesboro and the Sleep Center at StoneCrest. Additionally, he serves as the Director of the Insomnia and Parasomnia Treatment Program at the Sleep Centers. In June of 2007, Dr. Wind earned his board certification in behavioral sleep medicine from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. At the time his board certification was awarded, Dr. Wind was only the second person residing in the state of Tennessee and the ninety-third person in the United States to hold this certification. Dr. Wind is also the co-founder and Director of the Tennessee Colleague Assistance Foundation (TCAF) and serves as a consultant with the Center for Professional Excellence (CPE) in Nashville, where he specializes in the treatment of addiction. He has co-authored several articles and book chapters in the fields of behavioral medicine and personality assessment. He has received various awards during his academic and professional careers, including outstanding graduate student awards and awards for excellence in clinical research. Dr. Wind currently lives in Smyrna with his wife, Dr. Allison Wind, and their son. He is an active member of Advent Lutheran Church in Murfreesboro, and spends his free time boating, traveling, reading, and playing sports.
