Researh to begin examing symptoms of anxiety in patients with obstructive sleep apnea
An exciting new research project is starting at the Sleep Centers of Middle Tennessee examining symptoms of anxiety in patients with obstructive sleep apnea. The project is the result of efforts between the Sleep Centers of Middle Tennessee and Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). Some patients with obstructive sleep apnea report significant symptoms of anxiety prior to treating their sleep apnea. Anecdotal evidence has shown that patients’ symptoms of anxiety improve markedly once their obstructive sleep apnea is effectively treated. Little research has been done in this area to date.
